Dezinaworld Girly Challenge

Little Girly Daydreams
I'm trying to get back into my Photoshop collage fun! I'm rusty after a few weeks of not using what I've learned. I did this piece for the Girly theme over at Dezinaworld
I used the sweet and dreamy little girl image that was a freebie from June on her other site Art Freebies, and other images from Lisa's Altered Art, the pink background image was from Carol Anne's and also a couple of images from my own collection.

Stormy Arizona

Here's my view this morning, ...we had tornado warnings last night! Very unusual, plus we did get alot of rain. Some areas in different parts of Arizona are having lots of problems, so we are lucky where we are.

The locals call the mountain "old spooky"..........I agree

Soartful Challenge POGONIP (FROST)

frosty sisters.....
LOL! I thought I'd better get this submitted as it is already Friday! I have not used my photoshop for the last few weeks, being busy getting ready to escape here to Arizona and the travelling, etc.

I had already made one collage using the image provided and I have NO IDEA where it disappeared to!! I'm sure I saved it to my Soartful folder!........gone!!
Being new at it I have forgotten some of what I've learned......it will come back and I'm always learning something else as I fool around trying to create. Backgrounds of pogonip are what my daughter back in Canada took pictures of a couple of days ago. Ladies and pets are from iTkUpiLLi and Elegia's freebie sheets. They are both so generous....go look at link in sidebar.

Please read more about Pogonip here.
Soartful Challenge

...the one below I like as well but while fooling around I put that funny frame thing around it and couldn't get rid of it!

I'm in Arizona now!

I took this picture as the sun was setting on some flat land northeast of Payson AZ. We made the last of our journey in the dark, a little nerve wracking as it gets very mountainous and curvy closer to Payson and just beyond, although it does not seem to affect anyone as far as speed limit goes!
I took tons of pictures on the way, but I wouldn't want to bore you so will just post the one.
We had good weather all the way down from Canada although we could see where in some places in Nebraska they had waaaay more snow than what we left behind! Fortunately it had come before we had hit the road for our trip!
We did have a few delays........like all ready to hop in the car and go and couldn't set the burglar alarm.....got pulled over at the border coming into the USA (they seemed to be doing it to everyone that morning!)....they took away our homegrown potatoes and garlic!!! Potatoes have to be commercially grown and bagged with labelling, garlic must be processed!!........Then as we approached Denver, CO, we missed a turnoff, got on and off a toll highway several times which we will probably receive a huge bill for, but  finally got on the right track when hubby finally stopped and asked directions ...y'all know what men are like about asking directions! So we did see a little more of the outskirts of Denver than we really had intended on!
We will make sure we have a better map if we do that route again!
Just settling in now, it takes a bit of getting used to. It's going to be a dreary and rainy week, but that's ok!
There is plenty of sunshine to come....and you don't have to shovel rain!!
I can't leave without showing you a couple of pictures I received in the email this morning from daughter Sherri. My grandaughter KIERA plays ringette and they were in a tournament this last week and weekend and THEY WON!!.........She was sooo excited! She is the sweetie on the left in the picture below.

Congratulations to the whole team!

Arizona Here I Come!

ONLY 2 MORE SLEEPS!
I'm just waiting for Kiera to come for a last visit before we leave for Arizona, early Tuesday morning! I'm anxious to get on the road and I always get so excited when I see the first Saguaro cactus, it means we're not far from our destination, Apache Junction, AZ!

We're on the eastern edge of AJ and right near the Superstition Mountains, they are beautiful! I never get tired of looking at them and taking more and more pictures!

I get to visit with my BFF Millie, who lives in Oklahoma City but winters in our complex. We take alot of jaunts around the foothills to take pictures (when we're not garage saleing or shopping for bargains at the mall!)

Won't be long, we figure we'll be at this destination spot by Friday! Back to blogging soon, from a different location and alot of different scenery! Bye for now!!

Bunny and Buck

I just HAD to share these pictures with you! The little bunny at the woodpile is one of our resident bunnies that scoot around the yard winter and summer, I watch them from the kitchen or sunroom. I have to act quickly with the camera, and not make noise getting out on the deck through the sliding door, etc. so I shoot through the window, and in this case, inbetween the deck rails. I love my zoom lens!!

How sweet is this little guy/girl? And look at that snow sparkle!! CLICK ON ANY OF THE PICTURES TO ENLARGE.

This last picture is of the buck that has been hanging around the field at the back, always too distant for me to get a good picture. He got a little closer a week or so ago, and I did manage to get a picture, not focused too well, but I'm happy to have captured a picture of him!
Would you believe, he was in our front yard last night? Around 10:30 my husband just happened to glance out the window and see him on the front lawn! He was gone by the time I got to the window!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!

Hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas enjoying your family and friends. It is such a busy time of year but in the end, we all love it!
I will be busy, busy in the coming couple of weeks and hope to find some time to blog and maybe do a digital art challenge. We will be leaving for Arizona in a couple of weeks and I have alot to do before we leave so not too much free time to be here.
However........hoping to have more time for this when we are down there and settle in til April....oh I'm so lucky! To get away from the snow and cold and enjoy my friends down south!
Have a wonderful day and a super year ahead!

Dancing with Joy

Dancing with Joy is the Soartful Challenge this week and this is what I came up with.  I wish it was me! It's very cold here, not much snow, but the temperature was -29C with a -41 windchill this morning! I won't complain, as last year this was the norm through November and December with lots of snow too! I'm keeping cozy in the house and trying to catch up as usual, on everything! My escape into the digital world is a welcome break that I so enjoy! Have a great Sunday!

A note to Santa and Jaxon's Christmas haircut

Same doggie?........my sweet grand-doggie was pretty shaggy, but at least he kept nice and warm in this minus degree weather. Well, now he's all spruced up for Christmas, and looks like a proper Airdale Terrier!

My gal Sherri, Kiera's mom, sent these pictures. Below is a note she found on the coffee table, one of many assorted notes to Santa that she's been finding lately around the house. How does the mind of an eight year old really work?

Have a great weekend!

Three Muses Challenge

The theme this weekat the Three Muses is bottles and jars! The bottles in the window image is from Howard33 on Flickr, the ladies are from June at ArtFreebies. Being new at this photoshop stuff my skills are limited, so I was quite proud of myself to be able to get the ladies on the outside of the window.

Now if I could figure out to how to get things inside those bottles.....lots to learn, lots to learn....
I am trying to do one or two challenges a week to force myself to experiment with different tools in my Photoshop Elements 8 program. I sometimes start and don't get finished. I made sure I started right away on this challenge so here it is, hope you like it!

A big thankyou!

A special thankyou to my blog buddy Susie over at Vintage Susie and Wings for making me my own personal blog banner!  She used pictures from my blog along with her special Photoshop Super Powers and came up with that wonderful banner. I just love it! Thankyou Susie!!
When I started my blog, I somehow came across Susie's and just really loved it. I love her style and her posts and all the interesting little things she puts along the side. So pretty and so interesting.
We were both fairly new at blogging and also both had the digital art bug and were new at that too.
We love to visit back and forth and cheer eachother on. I guess we just clicked!
Thankyou my friend!

Soartful Challenge Home for the Holidays

I hope you like my entry for Soartful Challenges theme this week which is Home for the Holidays. I like to think that this young lady has just arrived home for Christmas in the country after being away from her family, becoming highly successful at her job in the big city. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
I played and played with the layers and colors and finally decided on this. I have so much to learn in my program and sometimes get hung up for 20 minutes on one little thing I've forgotten how to do!! I do love it though and look forward to learning more and more techniques.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend and don't wear yourself out Christmas shopping!
